BabĂ
BabĂ
BabĂ soft and rum-scented, baked and soaked in sugary syrup.
The babĂ It's a leavened cake with a soft, spongy texture, designed to accommodate a rum-flavored syrup and transform into a rich, moist, and aromatic treat. Its structure is born from the combination of flour, eggs, milk, butter, and fresh yeast: ingredients that require careful processing and two rising moments to develop volume and softness. Cooking at a high temperature creates a golden surface and a soft bread crumb Able to absorb liquid without crumbling. The syrup, brought to the right consistency until it forms a thread, completes the dessert with an enveloping sweetness and a distinct alcoholic note. The recipe is recommended as a traditional Campanian preparation. The serving can be completed with pastry cream and black cherries, or with heavy cream, strawberries or zabaione to the Marsala.
